Privacy policy

hupersuman is a mail, calendar and messaging client that runs on your own computer, iPhone or iPad. It has no server of its own. Your data moves only between your device and the services you connect, and never reaches the developer.

What the app accesses

When you connect a Google account, hupersuman asks for:

• Your basic profile and email address — to identify the connected account.
• Gmail (gmail.modify) — to read, compose, send, draft, label, archive, trash and restore your email.
• Google Calendar, only if you choose it — to list your calendars, show events, edit them and respond to invitations.
• Google Drive app data (drive.appdata) — a hidden folder in your own Drive, used only to keep your hupersuman settings in sync across your devices. The app cannot see any other Drive files.

When you connect Slack, hupersuman reads and updates the conversations your Slack account can access so it can show and manage them.

Where your data is kept

• Mail, events and messages are cached in a database on your device so the app works quickly and offline.
• Sign-in credentials are stored in your operating system’s secure storage (macOS/iOS Keychain or the Linux Secret Service).
• If you turn on settings sync, your settings and the credentials needed to connect your other devices are stored in the hidden hupersuman folder of your own Google Drive, protected by your Google account.

Sharing

hupersuman does not sell, rent or share your data, contains no advertising, analytics or tracking, and sends nothing to the developer.

The one exception is optional and off by default: if you enter your own TypeSafe API key to sort your inbox into categories, the text of conversations being sorted is sent to TypeSafe for classification. That processing is governed by your agreement with TypeSafe.

Google user data

hupersuman’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google data is used only to provide the features you see in the app. It is not used for advertising, is not transferred to anyone except as described above at your request, and is not used to train AI models.

Removing your data

• Removing an account in Settings → Accounts deletes its cached data and credentials from that device and revokes the app’s access at Google.
• You can revoke access at any time from your Google account permissions or your Slack app settings.
• Delete the synced settings in Google Drive under Settings → Manage apps → hupersuman → Delete hidden app data.
• Uninstalling the app removes its local database.
